Overview In the role of

Area Human Resources Manager (Corporate Support Teams) , we count on you to act as the Human Resources advisor and trusted business partner to select Corporate Support Services teams and staff with the fair and consistent interpretation and application of HDR policies, procedures and programs. This position reports to and consults with the Central Region Human Resources Director.

Primary Responsibilities

Act as the Human Resources advisor and trusted business partner to select Corporate Support Services teams and staff with the fair and consistent interpretation and application of HDR policies, procedures and programs.

Recruitment: Collaborate with the recruiting team and hiring managers on select recruitment activities, including periodic intern hiring initiatives; coordinate with the Corporate Mobility and Immigration team on mobility and immigration matters for current staff; work with the recruiting team to support educational efforts that promote consistent use of recruitment tools and processes.

Compensation and Benefits: Partner with the Corporate Benefits team to handle moderately complex benefit matters such as benefit changes, leaves of absences including STD, LTD and FMLA and other local and state requirements; understand benefit plan provisions, assist with employees’ benefit-related questions of moderate complexity, and collaborate on complex questions with the corporate benefits team; assist the corporate support services leadership and the corporate compensation team with personnel compensation-related matters including salary plans and compensation market studies; oversee the FLSA reviews and updates.

HRIS: Proactively support corporate support services leadership in adopting best practices and tools, promote a unified approach to usage of tools, data dashboards, HR reporting and employee data analytics; assist staff in accessing online human resources policies and navigating HRIS systems.

Employee Relations: Provide assistance to employees regarding fair and consistent interpretation of HDR policies; conduct investigations of moderately complex employee relations issues and collaborate with the Regional HR Director on recommendations; consult with Regional HR Director and corporate support services leaders on performance management and corrective action; assist in legal and compliance matters, audits, reductions in force and terminations; manage the ADA accommodation process; ensure HR procedures align with regulations and ethical practice; facilitate annual performance conversations; assist with compliance audits; coordinate with the Regional HR Director to present HR training programs; oversee completion of employee paperwork at the corporate office.

Qualifications

Required: A minimum of eight years related progressive experience; ability to maintain confidentiality; proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to build and maintain positive internal relationships and be a team player; detail oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills; self-motivated with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; ability to remain a neutral third-party and act as a credible consultant to management and employees; ability to travel 20% of the time.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field; HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP); prior management of HR employees or administrative staff; working knowledge of local, state and federal employment law.
