- Use independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, including product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or resolving Partner-related matters. - Responsible for the total operation and financial results of the Chef's Case and Cafe on the Run. - Train and manage kitchen personnel, supervise culinary activities, estimate food consumption, and requisition or purchase food. - Develop recipes, standardize production recipes for consistent quality, establish presentation techniques, and plan and price menus. - Ensure proper equipment operation, maintenance, safety, and sanitation. - May offer culinary instruction or demonstrate techniques. - Supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, discipline, and performance evaluations. - Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment throughout the kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas. Requirements
Proven leadership in a complex environment with multiple direct reports Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent Excellent customer service skills Assist in new product development and menu costing Proficiency with automated reporting systems (Inventory, Food Cost, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, labor management) Strong communication and organizational skills Excellent culinary and food processing skills Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control Ability to maintain efficient operation, troubleshoot, and report equipment malfunctions Ability to supervise, train, and cross-train kitchen staff Maintain sanitation standards throughout the work area Flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts Note: This posting is active as of 07-2015.
