About the Role: We’re seeking a Payroll Business Systems Specialist to be the go-to expert for Workday payroll. In this role, you’ll ensure payroll data integrity, deliver accurate reporting and reconciliations, support audits and compliance, and partner with payroll leadership on process improvements. Key Responsibilities:
Workday Payroll Subject Matter Expert
– Partner with the Payroll Director, BSA Manager, Payroll Manager, and Team Lead to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of payroll data within Workday. System Administration & Troubleshooting
– Configure, test, and troubleshoot Payroll and Time Tracking modules; resolve technical issues with payroll interfaces and external vendors. Reporting & Analytics
– Build, customize, and maintain payroll reports (including audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting) to support both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making. Audit & Compliance Support
– Conduct routine payroll data audits, reconcile quarterly taxes, and ensure accurate W-2 reporting. Respond to audit requests from payroll, legal, or compliance teams. Payroll Processing
– Review time entry data, deductions, retroactive adjustments, and load EIB files as needed to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time. Reconciliations & Payments
– Support accurate reconciliation of payroll with the General Ledger and ensure timely payments for 401(k), deferred compensation, pretax savings, garnishments, and refunds. Process Improvement & Projects
– Contribute to payroll-related projects from design through implementation, delivering recommendations for process efficiencies and system enhancements. Training & Support
– Provide guidance to payroll staff and managers on the proper use of Workday, earnings/deduction codes, and payroll tools to reduce errors and improve reporting accuracy.
Professional Experience and Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred (Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field) 2+ years’ experience in payroll systems support/processing required. Workday Payroll systems supportis preferred. ADP and Daily Pay experience is preferred Why Ensign Services Inc.?
