Overview

This multi-faceted position focuses on engaging communities in DKMS’s mission while recruiting well educated and committed potential stem cell donors by managing donor recruitment drives including fundraising, PR and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities

Community Engagement: Actively engage the community around DKMS’s mission through the recruitment of potential stem cell donors, awareness building, PR efforts and fundraising to achieve goals. Recruitment Drives: Plan, organize, manage and execute stem cell donor registration drives and special events; coordinate and prepare all drive-related promotional material including flyers, posters and press releases. Outreach: Actively seek potential patients and volunteers through various outlets including local networking, social media, etc.; coordinate and maintain relationships with local media for media coverage of drives and events; serve as DKMS spokesperson. Partnerships: Manage key partnerships with organizations, other non-profits, companies and/or individuals. Events and Attendance: Attend and play an active role in conferences and community meetings to present DKMS and build relations. Donor Engagement: Constantly educate and motivate new potential stem cell donors to ensure their availability and willingness to donate. Training and Compliance: Ensure that SOPs are implemented and upheld at all recruitment drives. Data and Follow-Up: Fill in all needed event data in the DKMS database system to ensure proper data tracking and better events maintenance; perform post-drive follow up including reporting outcomes and reviewing completed registration forms. Promotion and Campaigns: Coordinate and prepare drive-related promotional material; contact and maintain relationships with local media for coverage; raise donations at each undertaking to support DKMS mission. Donor Portfolio: Acquire and develop a strong fundraising portfolio with other DKMS staff and stakeholders, including corporate/foundation sponsors and individual donors. Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum of 2-3 years work experience, preferably in business development, health care, PR, fundraising, event/program management, sales, education (e.g., college campus recruiter), medical/nursing or teaching. Strong passion and commitment to the DKMS mission. Ability to think critically, be solution-oriented, and take ownership to solve problems and implement ideas. Ability to manage and motivate groups of people from different backgrounds; strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; comfortable speaking in public and in corporate settings. Non-profit experience with exposure to KPIs and goals is a plus; experience working with a younger demographic is favorable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.; able to travel up to 50%, including nights and weekends based on business needs. Proficiency in Windows and/or Mac OS, Word, Outlook, Excel, and internet searches; willingness to learn internal systems. Driver License required.
