The Tysons office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Labor & Employment Department. With more than 60 lawyers in the United States and Europe, our labor and employment team handles upwards of 4,000 employment-related matters each year. McGuireWoods’ clients include local, national and multinational employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and nonprofits. We counsel employers in every aspect of the employer/employee relationship, including federal, state and international law compliance; traditional labor issues; internal investigations; and executive compensation. Our team has received frequent recognition by Chambers USA in recent years for our labor and employment regional practices, plus nearly a dozen rankings for individual attorneys. Responsibilities
Defend single-plaintiff, class, and representative actions involving federal and state claims of discrimination, harassment, trade secret misappropriation, and wage and hour violations, among others. Counsel employers in every aspect of the employer/employee relationship, including federal, state and international law compliance; traditional labor issues; internal investigations; and executive compensation. Collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions and industries to deliver high value to clients. Qualifications
2-5 years of labor and employment or commercial litigation experience at an Am Law 100 firm. Experience or interest in noncompetes, trade secrets, and employment mobility issues preferred but not required. Candidates who have completed a federal clerkship will be strongly considered. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients, business teams, and legal teams. Strong academic record, excellent writing, and oral communication skills.
