System Application Engineer

in our

Chicago, Illinois , location. What do you get to do in this position? This position is typically held by someone early in their career, new to the industry, and/or a recent college graduate. The individual's experience may be limited, as is their exposure to our specific business. This position is responsible for providing high-quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules, and/or providing central software support for HVAC and access/security critical applications, as well as participating on a team to design, install, start up, commission, and service building automation control and facility management systems. Responsibilities

Provide high-quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules. Provide central software support for HVAC and access/security critical applications. Participate on a team to design, install, start up, commission, and service building automation control and facility management systems. Assist the PM in reviewing contract documentation, coordinating drawings, material procurement, and management throughout the project cycle. Participate in basic field startup using standard start-up and checkout processes. Contribute to successful job close-out by keeping project drawings and documentation up to date during the installation phase. Maintain and adhere to standards for engineering hardware and software designs. Read plans, specifications, drawings, and estimates; lead resolution of project issues through RFIs, field surveys, and customer communications. Manage incoming requests from customers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers efficiently so they are addressed promptly while balancing work assignments. Read and understand hardware submittals, read or write simple programming, and assist others in start-up controls equipment at a basic level with mentor support. Contribute to basic operator workstation use, graphics, and software development understanding. Support project documentation and drawings upkeep during installation. Proficiency in the usage of Studio 360, the Prometheus app, and other applicable engineering tools as applicable. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field. Ability to read plans, specifications, drawings, and estimates. Strong communication skills for customer interactions and coordinating with project stakeholders. Foundational understanding of engineering hardware, software designs, and related tools. Basic understanding of operator workstation use, graphics, and software development. Compensation & Benefits

The expected compensation range for this U.S. based position is $70,000 - $75,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and education or training.
