Job Summary: Serves as technical expert for Cardiology PACS for all clinical staff, including physicians and other departments. Serves as the primary coordinator of all cardiovascular inventory for all GHC procedural areas. Is the technical expert for WAVEMARK automated inventory system. Works with CVIRA and Supply Chain to assure appropriate levels of supplies at all times. Checks supply levels on a daily basis and generates request for supplies. Checks in and tags all supplies delivered on a daily basis. Reconciles any supply chain variances. Demonstrates sufficient clinical knowledge of all supplies to allow for appropriate decision making with regards to PAR levels, etc. May function as scrub tech for procedures as needed.

Job Criteria - Major Job Functions

Serves as technical/clinical expert and serves as resource person for all staff and physicians. Stays abreast of all new product offerings within the cardiology specialty. Serves as primary contact person for physicians regarding issues of a technical or supply chain nature.

Works with clinical staff and CVIRA to assure all automated charging and ordering capabilities are functioning as designed. Recommends changes as needed.

Works with physicians, staff and vendors to introduce new products in the most efficient and effective manner. Assures no product is used in heart center that has not followed appropriate approval route.

Responsible for orientation and training of all staff and physicians on CPACS, Wavemark, and supply chain processes.

Works with CVIRA and Heart Center Business Manager to assure financial feasibility of all offerings and with coding representatives to ensure appropriate charging/billing processes in place prior to new product/technology placement.

.Maintains mission critical supplies for all CV areas. Checks all backorders daily and assesses the clinical impact of any backorder, informing CVIRA of any impact noted.

Demonstrates adequate cardiac knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, EKG and hemodynamic monitoring and various changes than can occur during any procedure; demonstrates knowledge of arterial and venous sheath pulls and hemostasis.

Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of archival system; able to archive and retrieve patient information. Is the technical expert in this system.

May first scrub on certain cases in ICV or EP (implants, etc) in order to facilitate flow for the day.

Primary contact for physicians/physician extenders/physician offices for any CPACS related issues or requests.

Education: 1-2 years post secondary education; may be currently enrolled in (1) Cardiovascular Technology (2) Radiographic Technology (3) Other comparable Medical Technology Training or Information Services program. Experience: 2 year experience in relevant cardiovascular procedural areas (cath, echo, cardiac monitoring, noninvasive.

Certification/License/Registration: ACLS
