About the Role

We're looking for a

Perception Engineer

to design and develop advanced perception systems powering autonomous maritime platforms.

In this role, you'll work across the full perception stack-combining computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion-to build reliable, real-time systems that operate in complex, dynamic environments.

This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving hard technical challenges in autonomy and wants to make an impact on next-generation intelligent systems.

What You'll Do

Develop and optimize computer vision and ML algorithms for object detection, classification, tracking, and scene understanding. Integrate and fuse data from multiple sensors-camera, LiDAR, radar, GPS-to create accurate perception models. Build and maintain

real-time data processing pipelines

for low-latency feedback to navigation and control systems. Work with data annotation teams to generate high-quality labeled datasets for model training and validation. Optimize perception models for

compute efficiency

and on-device performance. Conduct testing and validation in both simulated and live environments. Document perception architecture, algorithms, and performance results for ongoing iteration. Collaborate with hardware, controls, and autonomy engineers to integrate perception systems end-to-end. Stay current on emerging advancements in computer vision, ML, and sensor technologies. What We're Looking For

3-7+ years of experience in

computer vision, machine learning, or sensor fusion . Proficiency in

Python

and

C++ , with working knowledge of CUDA, TensorFlow, or PyTorch. Hands-on experience implementing real-time perception systems or robotics pipelines. Strong understanding of multi-sensor integration, 3D perception, and tracking algorithms. Experience with LiDAR, radar, or vision-based detection systems. Bonus points for experience in

autonomous vehicles, robotics, or maritime applications . U.S. Person status required (citizen, green card holder, or protected asylee/refugee). Why Join

Build perception systems that drive

real-world autonomy

in high-stakes environments. Collaborate with a world-class team of engineers and researchers at the intersection of robotics and AI. Work hands-on with cutting-edge sensor hardware and compute platforms. Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and relocation support for those moving to Austin.
