Description The Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Psychology, General Faculty, beginning August 2026.

We are seeking applicants with a license in Clinical Psychology. This is a three-year, tenure-ineligible appointment with the possibility but not the guarantee of renewal. Responsibilities will include teaching three courses

or their equivalent

per semester, including classes in

Abnormal Psychology and related undergraduate offerings.

The applicant should also be prepared to provide graduate clinical training and supervision, and take on leadership roles in the psychology departments Mary Ainsworth in-house training clinic (these clinical training and leadership roles may be used to fulfill equivalent teaching requirements, as appropriate). Qualifiations

Minimum Qualifications.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicants should hold a PhD in clinical psychology and a clinical license in the state of Virginia by August 2026. In addition, experience providing clinical training and supervision to graduate students is required.

Preferred Qualifications.

Experience teaching Abnormal Psychology, experience in administrative leadership roles, and experience providing clinical practicum support is preferred.
