The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. The Bronx County District Attorney's Office has an opening for a Deputy Chief Investigator in its Detective Investigators Unit. This is a sworn police officer position requiring certification in the NYS DCJS Police registry. In this position, the Deputy Chief will be responsible for assisting with the administration, oversight, and all operations of the investigators, with the mission of supporting prosecution and investigations within the office, as well as overseeing internal security, under the direction of the Chief Investigator. Job Responsibilities: Assist with the bureau's administrative functions including hiring investigators, establishing appropriate training requirements, providing regular performance evaluations, creating a structure to ensure coverage for all investigative needs, and assessing and initiating standards to encourage the professional growth of investigative staff. Tactical and operational supervision of investigations, including overseeing: search warrants, eavesdropping warrants, securing evidence, physical surveillance, witness interviews, effecting arrest, and all other investigative and police functions. Supervise, manage, and monitor, at times, complex and lengthy investigations. Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required. Excellent computer and technical skills required. Ability to access and utilize various computer databases. Research and evaluate new and changing surveillance equipment and technologies. Work on special projects and tasks as assigned by the Chief Investigator. Must be willing to work flexible hours. Perform other related Administrative duties and projects as designated by the Chief Investigator.
