About The Role

Scientific American seeks an Associate Editor for the newsletter team who is passionate about communicating science, health and environmental journalism to a wide audience. Newsletters are the new “front page” of daily journalism and play a vital role in connecting with readers and driving traffic and digital subscriptions. The Associate Editor will be fully integrated into the Scientific American editorial team and contribute to our award-winning coverage of science discoveries, science policy, public health, social science, technology, and insights and innovations that matter. As the Associate Newsletter Editor, you will work closely with the Chief Newsletter Editor to write newslines and original and summative blurbs for our flagship newsletter, Today in Science, in addition to producing other topical newsletters and experimenting with new newsletter content formats. This role is located in our New York or Washington, D.C. offices on a hybrid working model.
