The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified Electrician. Reporting to the Trade Manager, you will be responsible for electrical work in schools around the Waikato and potentially further, including:

  • Light distribution board work
  • RCD and power point installations
  • LED lighting upgrades
  • Heat pump installations

You will be supported by site supervisors to ensure all work complies with health and safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant New Zealand electrical qualification
  • Experience with heat pump installations and distribution board upgrade experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand electrical legislation
  • Professional, courteous, and able to maintain a clean school site
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on approach
  • Leadership skills to guide a small team effectively
  • Reliable and committed, ready to start each week on site
  • Full, clean NZ driver\'s license (manual)
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Ability to pass a criminal history check
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening

Bonus Skills

  • Gas Filler\'s License
  • Experience with R32 refrigerant
