A hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking a permanent Medical Social Worker to join their team.

Title: Medical Social Worker - LMSW or LSCW

Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire

Setting: Social Work Services - Inpatient & Outpatient

Location: Kansas City, MO

Schedule: Full or Part-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00a – 4:30p

Pay: Starting at $53,000/year and increases based on relevant work experience, plus full benefits

The Medical Social Worker responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

• Provide social work services to patients/residents in acute, ambulatory or long term care settings
• Service to patients/residents and their families include: identification of psychosocial needs, psychosocial assessment, pre-admission screening and admitting services for long term care patients, discharge planning
• Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team for patient/resident care
• Duties may also include assistance with program development, evaluation, professional education, or supervision of students and BSW staff

Requirements

• MSW degree from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
• Licensed in MO (or eligible to get licensed) as a LMSW
• Must have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with patients of various ages and cultural backgrounds
• Previous experience in health care preferred
