Role Overview: HR Generalist
The HR Generalist serves as a field-based HR support professional focused on employee engagement, conflict resolution, employee relations, and day-to-day HR administration. This position requires travel to multiple project sites throughout the Southeast and in-office presence at our Great Falls, SC headquarters twice per week . The HR Generalist works closely with project teams, employees, and the HR Manager to support a positive workplace culture, address employee concerns, and assist with internal HR processes.
Typical Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide HR support to field teams by traveling to project sites to meet with employees and address workplace issues
Promote and facilitate employee engagement and retention across the organization
Assist in resolving employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and team-related issues in partnership with the HR Manager
Support employee relations through coaching, guidance, and timely communication
Maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
Assist with internal HR processes such as policy interpretation, data entry, and HR-related correspondence
Participate in and support project-level HR meetings and initiatives
May assist with benefits support and general employee inquiries
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment
Support and uphold UIG values and culture at all times
Perform additional administrative and HR-related duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a construction or project-based environment.
Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with BirdDog and COINS Systems is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Physical Requirements:
Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer – administrative duties
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
Must be able to travel frequently to project sites across the region
REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be:
18 years of Age
Able to pass a Drug Test
Legally Eligible to Work in the US
Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsite every workday (driver's license required)
Willingness to travel for project requirements, including overnight stays, to support various project sites.
