Overview
The Robot Programmer programs new tool paths and assists maintenance staff in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machining and pouring robots. This role is a blend of desk and shop work and is well suited for someone who is looking for a technical role but does not mind getting hands-on. Responsibilities
Work within TPi’s policies, objectives and procedures. Develop new part processing programs (tool paths) using ABB’s RAPID programming language. Design and fabricate work holding fixtures. Repair and troubleshoot industrial robots, conveyors, and other related automation equipment. Keep organized records and files while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent Working understanding of algebra and geometry. Strong grasp of parametric 3D modelling tools (Solidworks, Fusion360, CREO, etc). Machining experience either CNC or manual (at least 1 yr preferred). Programming experience of any kind (Gcode, C, Python, Javascript, etc) Proficiency with basic office computer tools (Microsoft Office suite, Adobe reader, etc.) Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting and repair. Proficiency reading technical manuals and schematics. Strong ability to think critically and work independently. Preferred Qualifications
1+ years’ experience with ABB RAPID and/or FANUC TPP programming languages. 1+ years machining experience, either manual or CNC. Experience working in an industrial or foundry environment. Proficiency with linear algebra and matrix math. Experience working with automated manufacturing technologies (CNC, 3D printing, robotics, PLCs) in a technician capacity. Associate’s degree in a relevant field or 2+ years’ work experience as a CNC or robot programmer. Seniority level
