A Day in the Life Reporting to the Factory Manager, this role oversees the Operations and Technical Department, supervising a team of 5 mechanics. Responsibilities include developing and executing preventive maintenance methodologies and maintenance strategy. The plant plans to grow headcount by 33% to about 100 people in the coming months.
Responsibilities
Lead the turnaround of daily plant operations with focus on technical performance, asset reliability, and efficiency.
Own resource allocation (equipment, people, systems, materials) to meet targets safely, cost-effectively, and sustainably.
Identify process weaknesses and implement corrective actions for long-term stability and improvement.
Develop strategies and visions to achieve optimal organizational results.
Drive accountability on the shop floor through daily production, maintenance, and quality target reviews—address variances quickly.
Coach and mentor technical and operations staff, building future leaders and fostering discipline, urgency, and continuous improvement.
Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to execute preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance to maximize uptime.
Prioritize, schedule, and ensure maintenance and repairs to maximize efficiency.
Lead root-cause problem solving for breakdowns and implement sustainable fixes to prevent recurrence.
Adhere to Lean manufacturing principles and food safety regulations, while improving product quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Ensure policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
Develop and execute action plans delivering improvements in OEE, cost reduction, and workforce engagement.
Collaborate with suppliers, internal customers, and support teams to drive alignment and accelerate plant recovery.
Location Denver, CO facility (80239). Relocation assistance available for strong candidates in the USA.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
7+ years of progressive technical leadership experience in manufacturing (food, beverage, or consumer goods preferred), including several years as head of maintenance or factory engineering.
Proven success in plant turnarounds, maintenance, or operations leadership.
Ability to lead technical teams through cultural and operational change, delivering improved performance and reliability.
Strong knowledge of TPM / Maintenance Excellence programs, including Asset Management, FMEA, Breakdown Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance.
Knowledge of PM Pillar Systems and tools, Asset Management Software (SAP preferred).
Proficiency with predictive maintenance tools (infrared, vibration, ultrasonic, etc.).
Track record of driving operational stability in complex, underperforming environments.
Resilient, action-oriented leadership with the ability to rally teams and deliver results.
Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Process preferred).
Location: Local to Denver, CO area preferred (80239) or willing to relocate with company support.
