Sr. Battery Systems Engineer (BMS/Accepting GC Candidates - No Clearance required)

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with expertise in energy storage subsystem development. The role focuses on energy storage development and systems engineering from concept to production, while aligning with strategic business goals supporting the AD&S team. The engineer may also manage key vendor relationships and ensure performance and reliability in cutting-edge technologies. What You’ll Do

Drive end-to-end energy storage system (ESS) development on accelerated timelines Collaborate with program teams to define actionable ESS requirements from user stories/CONOPs Develop ESS artifacts and steps including requirements, battery cell selection and validation Familiarity with ESS architecture and design concepts Define battery management system (BMS) requirements, HW/SW design, feature roadmaps, and validation plans at bench and HIL levels Plan cell, module, and pack-level validation; support bring-up, test, debug, and vehicle integration Develop ramp plans from development units to production Sustain fielded ESS with root cause analysis and data processing; drive countermeasures and design updates as needed Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or physical sciences with a focus on energy storage technologies; 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting energy storage systems Experience with battery test equipment (cell/pack cyclers, thermal chambers, battery health testers such as EIS, ACIR, hi-pot, megger, etc.) Proficiency with programming and modeling tools (Matlab, Simulink) and/or electrical circuit design/integration experience Familiarity with electrochemical energy storage materials and operation boundaries Knowledge of modern battery management system capabilities and requirements in HW and SW/FW Experience in battery characterization methods (mission profile validation, equivalent-circuit model characterization, cycle/calendar life assessment, safety features) Understanding of safety standards such as UN38.3, NAVSEA S9310 or equivalent (UL, IEC) Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or physical sciences with a focus on energy storage Familiarity with MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 Experience delivering robust, high-performance energy storage systems with strong technical ownership Experience in battery testing, modeling, controls, and BMS integration/operation Salary & Benefits

US Salary Range: $132,000 – $213,000 USD.
