Primary Function
Role:
A Field Service Support Engineer 2 will support an assigned region or temporarily assigned territory with planned maintenance activities or other actions as required. When required, install, support, troubleshoot, repair, and otherwise maintain all Intuitive products in an assigned region/territory to fulfill service agreements and warranty obligations and exceed customer expectations. This requires expertise in electro-mechanical systems, specialized training, and excellent customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Perform all types of scheduled maintenance activities for an assigned territory including system inspections, preventive maintenance, software updates, system recalls, field actions, and upgrades Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all Intuitive products and associated equipment within a specified territory or region in accordance with procedures and within designated timeframes Coordinate and perform system and hardware delivery and installation Competent in knowledge and implementation of OR protocol and HIPAA standards Complete administrative duties including spare parts inventory, Field Activity Reports, Return Material Authorizations, Expense Reports, etc., within prescribed timeframes Maintain all Intuitive-provided items including issued tooling, calibrated tool sets, employee vehicle, laptops, iPads, and other assets Support Intuitive teams as required to facilitate company goals (e.g., assist outside territories, assist Sales teams with trade shows, assist Genesis teams with sterile reprocessing training, provide hospital contacts to other teams) Provide feedback to HQ and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve processes and find efficiencies Complete required training items including equipment training for Intuitive products, ISI/Intuitive University classes, and management-directed professional development Maintain territory/region by responding to customer needs, establishing rapport with the customer base, and supporting training and events as required
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience Conduct training sessions at ISI, training centers, and hospitals Understand and comply with all department and company policies Provide management with a quarterly territory review and assessment Complete all administrative tasks in the required time frame Ad hoc tasks assigned by management Demonstrate individual characteristics expected of Intuitive personnel (e.g., character, capacity, energy, experience) Working Conditions Ability to travel ~80% within the travel and expense policy (local, regional and national travel) Reside within 30 miles of an airport and within a designated city in your assigned region Will need to work a flex shift, second shift, or other as required by territory and management Clean driving record Able to lift 75 lbs and move wheeled objects up to 1200 lbs Preferred Skills and Experience 1-3 years of Field Service Experience preferred Associate's degree in related field or equivalent training/experience preferred Proven track record of troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems preferred Good written and oral communication skills General computer skills Excellent administrative and record keeping skills
