JPI has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team in Dallas, Texas. The Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure timely, accurate processing of vendor payments and construction-related invoices. The position reports to the Manager, Project GC Accounting. Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the Accounts Payable inbox for the Central and West Construction divisions. Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure all associated invoices have been received and processed:
Confirm that Purchase Orders (POs) have been properly created and aligned with invoices. Validate that invoice entries are correctly linked to POs in the system. Ensure invoices have been reviewed and approved by the appropriate Project Manager (PM).
Route vendor invoices to the Offsite Services Vendor (OSV) team for timely processing. Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and proactively resolve any discrepancies. Collaborate with internal departments, including project managers and procurement, to ensure accuracy and compliance in invoice processing. Assist with month-end closing activities and other AP-related reporting as needed. Support the AP Manager with ongoing process improvements and special projects. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting function, preferably in a construction or project-based environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus. Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
