Senior Data Scientist

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Utilize your statistical and programming knowledge to identify patterns, opportunities, and business questions that drive valuable insights.
Assess datasets for limitations or potential issues that may affect machine learning performance.
Re-train models as necessary to adapt to new challenges and goals.
Support investigators and stakeholders in validating analytical results.
Create detailed reports and presentations that communicate findings effectively.
Document datasets and analytic processes with accuracy and thoroughness.
Implement quality control procedures for data integrity and program reliability.
Conduct analyses for a variety of study designs including cross-sectional, cohort, and case-cohort.
Employ SAS and R for genetic analysis, along with custom software.
Apply advanced statistical techniques in your analysis, including multi-omic data interpretation.
Assist in interpreting statistical results for publications and other reports.
Contribute to the development and execution of statistical analysis plans.
Work interdisciplinary with biologically focused omics projects such as metabolomics and proteomics.
Collaborate with researchers to design effective data analyses for papers, grants, and presentations.
Design, troubleshoot, and maintain clinical research databases.
Act as a scientific advisor to junior colleagues in relevant scientific research.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the research team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
Preferred candidates hold an MD or Ph.D., with a medical and data science background and 2-3 years of experience post-degree.
Understand and have experience in patient-oriented research studies and associated data.
Demonstrate outstanding quantitative skills along with a solid foundation in biostatistics for large epidemiological and clinical studies.
Exhibit strong data management and analysis skills, specifically with large datasets.
Compensation & Salary Range
This position is assigned to Wage Grade W.G.420 with a salary range of $85,600-$139,100 annually (midpoint $111,280). Final offers will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, and departmental budget constraints. Candidates whose expected salaries lie outside this range may not be considered.
Qualifications
Doctorate degree in a related field OR a Master's degree in a related field with two (2) years of relevant experience.
OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with four (4) years of relevant experience.
