University Health Services at the University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a Part-Time Psychiatric Support Clinician to provide integrated behavioral health services and psychiatry coverage within an interprofessional team focused on improving the student experience and access to care. Responsibilities

Clinical Support - Consultation (35-55%): Routinely provide consultation and recommend treatment adjustments to medical and mental health providers for complex patients; respond to telephone calls, secure electronic messages, and requests for EHR chart reviews. Direct Clinical Care (30%): Provide direct evaluation of patients with significant diagnostic or therapeutic challenges, conduct assessments, determine disposition, provide brief therapeutic support, and connect students with other mental health providers at UHS or in the community; may include brief transfer of care for more extensive evaluation in the medical setting until patients return to their PCP or engage in specialized care. Population-based Care Support (5-10%): Participate in regular reviews of the population-based caseload and develop collaborative recommendations with the care manager; identify population-based trends. Training, Collaboration, and Capacity-Building (10-30%): Provide in-the-moment education and capacity-building support to care team members; participate in staff meetings and case conferences to support quality assurance and workflow; develop and deliver in-service training for providers and staff; identify opportunities for service and workflow improvement and contribute to interdisciplinary program development to increase UHS capacity. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Education MD, or recognized equivalent. Successful completion of Psychiatry Residency at an ACGME accredited program. Significant clinical experience in the outpatient practice of Psychiatry. Licenses & Certifications Active and valid California Medical License. Current Board Certification in Psychiatry. Active BLS Certification. DOJ CURES Registration. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Expert clinical skills essential to the successful performance of specialist Physician duties. Ability to synthesize medical and psychiatric data and provide evidence-based clinical assessments and recommendations. Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective team-based care; clear written and verbal communication; strong listening and nonjudgmental approach. Commitment to patient-centered care with empathy and professional boundaries; cultural humility and experience working with diverse and underserved communities. Positive, solution-focused attitude with ability to prioritize tasks; flexibility and adaptability with incomplete information. Experience in medical settings (e.g., clinics, ER, outpatient clinics) and in managing ADHD, substance use, eating disorders, mood/anxiety/psychosis, and other MH/medical interface issues. Proficiency with electronic health records and campus systems. Advanced skills in psychopharmacology, assessment, triage, and behavioral treatments. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with young adults and/or in a college health setting. Experience in an integrated care model and multidisciplinary teams. Experience with mental health quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives. Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary range for this position is $78,614.00 - $146,151.00 and is prorated according to FTE.
