Position Overview
The Marketing Manager is MCEC's bridge between mission and message — making sure our brand shows up strong, our stories land right, and our marketing partners deliver what we need, when we need it.
This role coordinates with external marketing firms to execute brand strategy, social media, website projects, SEO, and campaigns — while keeping everything aligned internally. You\'ll work closely with the COO and organizational leadership to translate organizational priorities into clear marketing direction, manage vendor relationships and deliverables, and make sure every campaign supports our goal of serving military-connected children and families.
This isn\'t about doing all the marketing yourself — it\'s about being the strategic coordinator who keeps multiple partners moving in the same direction, ensures quality and timeline adherence, and builds the internal systems that make marketing sustainable and scalable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Agency & Vendor Coordination
Serve as primary liaison with external marketing firms, managing contracts, timelines, deliverables, and budget compliance
Translate organizational priorities into clear creative briefs and strategic direction for partners
Review and approve deliverables from agencies, ensuring brand consistency and strategic alignment
Coordinate between multiple vendors (marketing agency, branding firm, web developers) to ensure cohesive execution
Strategic Marketing Oversight
Collaborate with COO and organizational leadership to develop marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals and fundraising priorities
Coordinate marketing initiatives across programs, ensuring consistent messaging for Student 2 Student, parent programs, and professional development offerings
Lead internal marketing planning and calendar coordination across departments
Track performance metrics and provide insights to leadership on what\'s working and what needs adjustment
Brand & Content Management
Maintain brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints
Coordinate content development for programs, ensuring marketing accurately represents offerings and impact
Oversee website updates and digital properties in partnership with external developers
Support program teams with marketing guidance and materials that strengthen both outreach and fundraising
Data & Performance Analysis
Monitor campaign performance using analytics platforms and dashboards
Provide regular reporting to COO and leadership with actionable recommendations
Use data to inform budget decisions and optimize marketing spend
Support revenue diversification goals through marketing analytics that demonstrate reach and engagement
Qualifications Required
Bachelor\'s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
5+ years of marketing experience with proven vendor/agency management skills
Strong project management abilities with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and timelines
Analytical mindset with experience using marketing analytics and performance measurement tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate between creative partners and organizational leadership
Experience managing budgets and multi-channel marketing initiatives
Preferred
Nonprofit marketing experience with understanding of mission-driven communication
Background in education, military family support, or youth development sectors
Experience coordinating with external agencies or consulting firms
Familiarity with marketing technology platforms (CRM, email marketing, social media management tools)
