Aston Carter Location: Simsbury, CT Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site Duration: Interim (with potential for longer-term engagement) About The Opportunity A well-established and financially stable organization in Simsbury, CT is seeking an experienced Controller to step into a leadership role within its accounting department. This is a full-time, on-site position focused on financial clean-up, oversight, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to resolving discrepancies and streamlining operations.
Responsibilities
Lead financial clean-up efforts, including identifying and resolving duplicate payments and coding errors Oversee expense and revenue coding, and manage profit & loss (P&L) reporting Diagnose accounting issues and implement effective solutions Supervise and support the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and accountability Maintain and improve general ledger integrity and month-end close processes Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Required Qualifications
Proven leadership experience in accounting or finance roles Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting Proficiency in QuickBooks Ability to manage and mentor staff effectively Demonstrated success in identifying and solving accounting issues
Preferred Skills
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Experience in financial operations within small to mid-sized organizations
Work Environment
Standard office setting in Simsbury, CT Full-time, on-site presence required Collaborative team environment
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
