Position Overview
The client is seeking a highly qualified DevOps Engineer with strong AWS experience to support mission-critical cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role is part of a fast-paced federal environment, supporting national security systems and initiatives based in Winchester, VA. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable AWS infrastructure in support of mission systems Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud-based systems in accordance with federal standards (e.g., NIST 800-53) Monitor system health, performance, and cost efficiency using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, InfoSec, and operations to support a DevSecOps culture Maintain compliance with all FBI and federal security controls and documentation standards Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure automation roles Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in a secure or enterprise setting Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) Proficient with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS) Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or AWS-native pipelines Experience working in high-security environments and adhering to government standards Seniority level
