The primary purpose of the Research Scientist position is to advance the development and optimization of novel RNAi and nucleic acid–based delivery platforms for oncology and other disease indications. This includes leading experimental design, executing in vitro and in vivo studies, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to move promising formulations toward preclinical and translational development.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and independent Scientist with a strong background in nanomedicine, particularly in the design and evaluation of RNAi-based delivery systems.

Responsibilities

Plan Experiments & Programs

— Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing scientific research projects including studies involving novel therapy for treatment of human ovarian cancer as assigned by the Principal Investigator. Determine goals and communicate them to project personnel. Develop written instructions for experiments, consult with the PI and laboratory personnel, evaluate data, and revise techniques as needed. Prepare research protocols for animal and human tissue use and ensure procedures are followed. Conduct experiments in the biomedical field and operate and maintain laboratory equipment. Ensure work areas are clean and organized. Prepare reagents, retrieve and process tissue specimens, and maintain necessary records.

Supervision/Training/Maintenance

— Oversee research experiments and projects in the Gynecology Laboratory. Review work for compliance, train personnel on equipment and safety practices, supervise students or technicians, and assist with maintenance of laboratory and office equipment. Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, follow safety procedures, and participate in annual safety training.

Collection & Analysis of Data

— Record and analyze experimental data, prepare graphs and charts, organize data for reporting and publication, and assist with manuscript and abstract preparation. Manage data formats for presentation and publication and assist in grant applications and progress tracking. Present findings at professional meetings and prepare slides and posters.

Other duties

— Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

Education Education Required:

Masters Degree in Natural sciences or related field.

Education Preferred:

PhD in Natural sciences.

Work Experience Experience Required:

4 years of experimental or scientific work, or 2 years of experimental work with a medical degree, or no experience required with PhD.

Experience Preferred:

Extensive experience with RNAi or nucleic acid delivery systems, including formulation and characterization of lipid nanoparticles or similar nanocarriers. Proven expertise in in vivo models, especially tumor-bearing or metastatic models relevant to evaluating therapeutic delivery and efficacy. Strong understanding of the tumor microenvironment and mechanisms influencing nanoparticle biodistribution, cellular uptake, and therapeutic response.
