Overview
BPS Bioscience Inc. is a leading provider of recombinant proteins, assay kits, and recombinant cell lines for drug discovery. We are seeking an exceptional scientist, with a strong background in enzymology, enzyme kinetics, protein/protein interactions, and fluorescence and luminescence-based assays. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist I with deep expertise in antibody to join our Molecular and Cellular Biology team. This position plays a critical role in driving research and development efforts, with a primary focus on the design, expression, engineering for multiple targets, purification, and optimization of antibodies, including phage display, single B cell isolation, humanization, and stable cell line development. The ideal candidate will have strong industry experience and be adept at independently designing and executing experiments at a high standard. Responsibilities
Lead and execute projects related to antibody design and engineering, including humanization, affinity maturation, and bispecific antibodies. Molecular cloning and vector design. Transient and stable expression in mammalian systems. Antibody purification using affinity chromatography and other techniques. Develop and optimize stable cell lines for antibody production. Utilize fermentation systems for antibody expression (small- to mid-scale). Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance R&D capabilities. Participate in team meetings, project planning, and cross-functional collaborations. Design and perform cell-based functional assays to characterize antibody activity. Present research findings internally and externally, including at scientific conferences. Maintain rigorous documentation and ensure high standards of data integrity. Maintain excellent working relationships with partners throughout the company. Maintain updated and well-organized lab notebooks. Other tasks and duties as assigned. Requirements
A Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology required. Minimum 3 - 5 years industry experience focused on antibody work. The candidate must have proven experience performing enzyme kinetics and assay optimization. Proven track record in antibody discovery and development, including engineering and functional validation. Extensive experience with phage display, mammalian cell culture, sterile technique, and molecular biology methods. Proficiency in downstream processing including protein purification and analytical characterization. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail. Benefits
