Overview
The Women’s Club Lacrosse Coach, will work with club sport officers and participants to maintain a competitive club program to include practice and game coaching, skill development, compliance with University and Club Sport rules, team management, and administrative tasks. This position is paid with a yearly stipend of $5,000. Responsibilities
Directly responsible to oversee and administer all University and Club Sport rules and regulations. Ensure that Women’s Club Lacrosse complies with the letter and spirit of all institutional rules as outlined in the Club Sport Handbook. Plan and lead practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game preparation. Attend and supervise a majority of games and practices, including evenings and weekends. Develop game strategies, set lineups, and make in-game decisions to enhance team performance. Provide instruction to players of varying skill levels, offering feedback and individualized support. Capture and maintain accurate records of practice and competition results. Ensure safety of participants and monitor environmental conditions of playing surfaces. Ensure that Injury Reports are completed for each injury and are given to Associate Director of Club Sports within 24 hours. Ensure proper warm-up and stretching for student-athletes prior to practice or competition. Communicate with Associate Director of Club Sports as needed on issues associated with the club or any of its participants including travel, injuries, equipment, and administrative tasks and responsibilities. Uphold the values of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity on and off the field. Attend practice typically 2-3 times per week (schedule is subject to change each semester depending on field availability), approximately 2 play days in the Fall and 5 play days in the Spring, and USLA Collegiate Nationals with the team. Qualifications
Preferred 1 year of coaching experience at varsity high school level or higher and previous experience playing at a competitive level (includes varsity and club). Candidate should have high-level knowledge of lacrosse; strong communication, accountability, adaptability, and organizational skills; and the ability to develop and coach a group of young athletes while providing constructive criticism on lacrosse skills. The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends as well as be available for travel depending on the game schedules. Ability to demonstrate lacrosse skills, drills, and conditioning exercises. Capacity to stand for extended periods, run short distances, and carry equipment (up to 25 lbs). Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Position Type
