Base pay range: $83,100.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver high safety and security standards while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. AWS values an inclusive culture that embraces bold ideas and ownership. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join the Data Center Engineering Operations team. This team maintains the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS, ensuring data center MEP operates at 100% availability while delivering first-class customer service to internal teams. The Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency. This includes planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The CE serves as an expert technical resource collaborating with onsite Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and third-party vendors. They act as the primary focal point for all facility operations within a data center and support AWS. This position will work with night shift teams to ensure training and drills are conducted successfully and that night staff are properly trained. Responsibilities

Management and leadership of DCEO Engineering Team Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance On-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRACs, building monitoring systems, etc. Data Center capacity planning and reporting May assist in design and build-out of new facilities Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders to manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency Deliver quality service and meet customer demands Asset and inventory management Respond to after-hours emergency calls; serve as first-level on-call escalation for data center facilities issues Primary on-call shift rotation; training and development of EOTs including night shift personnel Basic Qualifications

3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience 3+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience Technical (Military/Trade School) training or degree in electrical or mechanical field Preferred Qualifications
