Quality Systems Manager at Russell Stover Chocolates. Location: Kansas City, MO (RSC Corporate Headquarters). Regular full-time role in Quality Assurance/R&D. What to expect

As a Quality Systems Manager, you will manage all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) for Russell Stover Chocolates (RSC), including Global Food Safety Initiative (FSSC 22000), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), AIB GMP Certifications, and regulatory agency visits. You will also manage customer compliance requirements and business compliance initiatives (Rainforest Alliance, Sustainability FSQA goals, RSPO). This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Food Safety, Regulatory & Compliance. Responsibilities

Review, improve and maintain the QMS at RSC, ensuring successful surveillance and re-certification audits; partner with stakeholders to assure compliance with FSSC 22000, FSMA, AIB, Rainforest Alliance, RSPO and other required standards. Develop, manage and review QMS documentation, including policies, procedures, forms, and methods; own the QMS module within the document control platform. Lead efforts for future certifications needed for the business. Drive companywide FSSC 22000 and FSMA awareness for all employees, including internal awareness of customer requirements. Perform and coordinate internal audits, conduct periodic reviews, and ensure internal auditors are regularly trained. Conduct management review meetings at the corporate level with cross-functional participation; collaborate with other departments to ensure certification requirements are implemented. Collaborate with RSC plants and co-manufacturers on annual recertification of food safety, quality, and sustainability audits, including training, internal audits, corrective actions, and participation in third-party audits as required. Training

Manage Food Safety & Quality Systems training programs, including annual sustainability certifications training; ensure effective training of department and plant training coordinators. Develop and implement content for quality and food safety, sustainability, and required certifications within the RSC training system. Ensure development and execution of quality, food safety, and food safety culture training curriculums across all departments and locations. Quality Improvement Projects

Manage trending, archiving, and reporting of quality performance and corrective action data; ensure ongoing compliance with GFSI, AIB, FSSC, RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, regulatory agencies, and other applicable standards. Travel to plants is expected regularly; all plants are located in the contiguous US. Support additional projects as assigned. Visiting manufacturing plants

Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards. Complete FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements and support plant objectives. Promptly report and take action on food safety hazards, deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the plant supervisor, per role responsibilities. Actively contribute to continuous improvement of the Food Safety Culture. This job posting is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) and HACCP Certification 5+ years of job-specific experience in quality, food safety and/or compliance Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams Experience in training across different employee levels Successful implementation of a GFSI system within a manufacturing site Experience writing and maintaining technical documents Knowledge of food quality/safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Preventive Controls, FSMA, HACCP, GFSI) Working knowledge of GFSI standards, preferably FSSC 22000 Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to completion Results-driven, detail-oriented, self-motivated; able to work independently Proficient in MS Office and access databases Flexibility in work hours; ability to travel up to 30% and work on holidays Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written) Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of in-plant food manufacturing experience Equal Opportunity Employer: Russell Stover Chocolates is an equal-opportunity workplace.
