Overview

The Construction Site Manager is the conductor of standalone multi-craft, joint venture, or EPC projects — steering every beat of Safety, Quality, and Project Controls with expertise. As a Site Manager, you orchestrate the full spectrum of engineering teams, technology partners, and joint venture collaborators. Your charge: total ownership of the project’s pulse — from safety protocols and quality benchmarks to labor, materials, scope, client engagement, and execution across every discipline. This role requires dynamic collaboration with clients, engineering and design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and distributors to ensure milestones are met on schedule and within scope. Location & Travel Details

You can be based in any city or state in the U.S. This is a traveling, project-based position, up to 90% of the time. You may be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the U.S. You’ll spend 8-18 months on average per project. Per diem is provided, along with an excellent base salary to support living expenses. This position is eligible for mobilization support (which may include mileage reimbursement) and includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home. A company vehicle and fuel card or vehicle allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities Oversee and manage the entire site management team (Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Quality Manager, Safety Manager, etc.).

Represent MIC in all client interactions in a professional manner.

Communicate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on project-related issues.

Champion MIC’s Corporate Safety Plan and develop a site-specific safety plan.

Review completions status and schedule progress; identify productivity issues early and propose solutions.

Review all work plans and work packages; ensure site quality plan is followed and inspections/quality documentation are completed on time for final turnover.

Coach Superintendents on monitoring and staying below estimated Average Labor Rates.

Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and train all craft and staff to correctly complete JSAs.

Lead jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training.

Schedule material deliveries and monitor procurement status reports.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.

Review material takeoffs from drawings, specs, and other contract documents.

Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations.

Review submittals or transmittals to customers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use as prepared by the Project Engineer.

Review and approve major field-issued purchase orders and subcontracts; manage home office purchase orders and contracts as applicable.

Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.

Support project recordkeeping and correspondence (daily reports, photos, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, memorandums, and other required correspondence).

Develop and review project controls (productivity tracking, indirect scheduling, equipment logs, risk and opportunity logs).

Provide information for the master project schedule and contribute to change order management.

Drive planning through master schedule, 6-week, 3-week, and 1-week lookahead planning and manpower curves.

Assist with accounting, job costs, and WIP updates; lead budgeting efforts and cashflow forecasting for the project.

Act as primary company representative in all customer interactions and understand prime contract provisions and scope.

Develop and prepare Schedule of Values and invoices; coordinate staffing through the requisition process.

Approve construction equipment purchases and rentals; mentor and manage direct reports.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering and construction management.

Ten (10) years of field experience.

Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.

Ability to read and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents; provide constructability and cost-saving alternatives.

Ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments.

Strong leadership, initiative, ethics, and integrity; commitment to safety and empowering teams.

Willingness to travel extensively and relocate to project locations for extended periods (typically 6-12 months).

Other duties as assigned; maintain good relations with team members and supervisors.

Physical Demands Work up to a 12-hour shift involving physical tasks outdoors in varying temperatures.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; crawl, climb, and perform tasks in uneven environments; wear required safety gear.

Stamina to perform tasks repetitively; tolerate environmental conditions and noise.

Visual, hearing, and manual dexterity requirements; ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Hours

This is a full-time position typically scheduled to work 50 hours per week; schedule may vary by project requirements.
