A leading financial services firm is seeking an exceptional and experienced Algo Trading Developer to join its Global Trading Technology team. This individual should have a proven track record of developing high-quality software and trading strategies within a top-tier financial organization. Algorithmic trading plays a critical role in today’s equity markets by providing clients with superior execution while minimizing market impact and risk. These platforms rely on quantitative analytics, real-time and historical market data, signal events, and statistical analysis. The Global Trading Technology team is responsible for delivering these advanced trading solutions to internal trading desks and buy-side clients. We are looking for a strong developer to join an agile, high-performing team focused on building client-facing, high-availability, low-latency trading algorithms and infrastructure. This role reports to the Head of Algo Development. Key Responsibilities
Participate in the full lifecycle of designing, developing, testing, and monitoring the next-generation global algorithmic trading platform. Collaborate with quantitative analysts to implement trading algorithms, models, and analytical signals. Partner with product and sales teams to address client requests and customizations. Develop innovative, strategic solutions with a pragmatic mindset. Stay informed on industry trends and continuously seek improvement. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related engineering field. Expert-level proficiency in Java, Linux, and object-oriented design, with a focus on performance, reusability, and test automation. Minimum of 2 years of experience developing backend trading systems for Equities, Futures, or Listed Derivatives. Strong understanding of equities market microstructure, trading workflows, order types, market data, and routing. Ability to implement quantitative models, conduct statistical analysis, and perform back-testing and simulations. Experience working directly with front-office trading teams. Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented development environment. Experience designing and implementing trading strategies such as benchmark tracking, liquidity seeking, and dark aggregation. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Experience with low-latency messaging systems (e.g., Solace, 29West). Knowledge of event-driven (pub/sub) programming models. EOE Statement
