Overview
Quality and Patient Safety Program Manager (licensed), part-time. Supports quality management (QM), patient safety (PS) and regulatory performance improvement (PI) activities for the hospital and medical staff. Serves as a resource to employees, management, nursing directors, senior management, councils, physicians, and teams on quality management activities. Handles patient-sensitive and confidential hospital information. Responsibilities
Assist in the design, planning, implementation and coordination of QM, PS and PI activities for assigned hospital and medical staff departments, committees, divisions, service lines and functions. Proactively coordinate and facilitate performance improvement teams to support initiatives including clinical quality improvement, patient safety and risk reduction, patient experience, efficiency, FMEAS, and root cause analyses and medical staff improvement (e.g. peer review, OPPE, FPPE). Include clinical performance improvement and case review for peer review. Participate in ensuring compliance with CMS HIQRP/HOQRP, TJC, Leapfrog, and other requirements; develop and implement data collection tools, collect and abstract data, validate data, and verify reports prior to publication. Direct programs involving risk mitigation/management and initiatives related to providing safer care. Provide information to key stakeholders on the progress and status of programs/initiatives. Oversee the implementation of compliance policies and procedures to meet organizational compliance requirements. Manage hospital-wide compliance with regulations from The Joint Commission, Department of Health Services, CMS and other agencies. Oversee events, reporting, process, root cause analysis, and event investigations/reviews. Participate in system office initiatives to mitigate risks identified at other hospitals. Receive and oversee responses to patient complaints and investigate to resolve issues promptly. Act as an intermediary between patients, staff and families to communicate clearly about ongoing issues. Note: this is a part-time position with one 8-hour day and two 6-hour days (weekdays). Licensed Registered Nurse, Licensed Clinical Pharmacist, or other Licensed Clinical Staff. One (1) year healthcare-related quality management/performance improvement experience. Three (3) years clinical experience in an acute care setting. Demonstrated accomplishments performing case reviews. Liscensure
Current state license in a clinical field in state of practice. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Healthcare Quality and Management Certification (HCQM) or Certificate of Professional Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety (CPQPS) within 2 years of employment is required. Pay Range
