: Scientist Location

: Richmond, VA Department : Immuno Chemistry - Research and Development Shift : First Shift - Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM EST Full time, Benefits, Annual Bonus, 401k Match, and PTO This is a fully onsite role based at our BIOA Laboratory in Richmond, VA. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri)

Environmental Conditions Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.)

Responsibilities

Performs immunochemistry laboratory experiments and acts as the technical project leader for multiple projects with direction from the principal investigator. Designs and executes experiments, reviews and analyzes data, writes reports and other technical documents with supervision from principal investigator or technical manager. Interacts with, interprets, and relays technical data, scientific issues, and project status to the principal investigator. Mentors, trains and coordinates laboratory activities of other team members to achieve project goals within established project timelines. Ensures high-level science, quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory guidance. Performs self and peer review of the data for accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements prior to submission to QC and issuance to customers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, molecular biology or similar

Experience

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. OR Master’s degree

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of multiple applicable techniques such as: HPLC, GC, MS, Dissolution Testing, Inhalation Testing, Biopharmaceutical Testing, Karl Fischer, UV-Vis, FT-IR, TOC Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Proven ability to interpret data by performing trend analysis Proven ability in technical writing skills Ability to independently optimize analytical methods Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Good written and oral communication skills Time management and project management skills Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team

Working Environment

Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner. Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours. Able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Able to work in non-traditional work environments. Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency. May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments. Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
