is seeking a
Technology Systems Consultant
with systems design experience with a focus on Telecom/IT/Audio Visual / Security. This role will support the engineering of systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers in creating designs for spaces including Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports, and educational facilities nationwide. Responsibilities
Support the design efforts on a wide range of projects as a technology systems consultant. Work closely with senior and supervising consultants performing calculations and laying out highly technical spaces. Progress from basic design work assignments to more complex projects in collaboration with a technical team. Provide trade-specific system design layout (CAD/BIM), calculations (appropriate software), and related design services including coordination with other trades (architectural and engineering) under the guidance of senior staff.
Additional Responsibilities
Represent Syska Hennessy Group and interact with internal design teams, external clients, and consultants (owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.). Create designs under minimal supervision of the senior staff. Develop specifications, system narratives and layouts for a variety of projects. Establish system application, design, and operational parameters under the direction of the senior team member. Participate in QA/QC processes for your work and the work of others. Assist with project scheduling, staffing, and budgets. Perform construction administration and field investigations, including field inspections and detailed inspection reports. Coordinate with other disciplines and the design team. Assist with processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda. Manage CAD/BIM and other technical staff as appropriate. Write engineering proposals under the direction of a senior team member. Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional topics.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience. 7 to 10 years of audiovisual, telecom, IT, or security design experience in markets including critical facilities, healthcare, aviation, sports and entertainment, corporate interiors, and educational facilities. Proficiency in written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design. Working knowledge of Wi-Fi network and telephony design concepts, heat maps, etc. Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/Revit 360 experience preferred. Certifications such as P.E., ICT (PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, etc.) are a plus.
