Overview

The Data Scientist supports intelligence operations by applying data analytics, engineering, and statistical methodologies to extract insights and automate decision-making. This position develops and operationalizes AI/ML tools and analytical pipelines to improve mission outcomes. The analyst will work with large, complex, multi-source datasets and translate them into actionable intelligence through predictive modeling, visualization, and automation. Location: DIA HQ, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly Shift: Standard (No Shift Work) Responsibilities

Perform data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory, predictive, and statistical analyses. Build AI/ML-based tools such as recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems. Conduct data visualization using tools like Power BI and Tableau. Manage and merge disparate data sources via Python, R, or SQL. Develop and integrate scripts for retrieving, parsing, and processing data across multiple systems. Design and maintain scalable data platforms supporting mission objectives. Apply data mining algorithms and statistical modeling to develop prediction systems. Incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) into analytic solutions. 3+ years designing, developing, and maintaining complex data applications. 3+ years of experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, Rust, or PostgreSQL. 2+ years coding for data manipulation, analysis, or modeling. Proven ability to integrate and process data across multiple systems. Experience developing algorithms using Python and SQL. Proficiency with Python data science/visualization packages. Strong understanding of Multi-INT analytics, ML, and predictive analytics. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Additional / Preferred Qualifications

8+ years in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. 2+ years with AI and ML development. Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (e.g., GitHub). Experience in the Intelligence Community (IC). Knowledge of database administration, structured/unstructured data, and public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with Streamlit, Tkinter, and Agile development practices.
