Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in marketing analytics to join Blizzard’s Global Insights Marketing Analytics team in Irvine, CA. This role focuses on applying advanced analytics and data science to help marketing teams make smarter, data-driven decisions that maximize player engagement and business impact. The position is anticipated to be hybrid (some on-site, some remote). This role will build advanced models and frameworks to drive understanding of marketing effectiveness, customer lifetime value, and ROI across all marketing channels — including social media, paid advertising, influencer campaigns, and more. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex business problems, thrives in a collaborative environment, and can translate analytics into actionable insights for marketing leaders. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models to measure and optimize marketing performance, including:

Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)

to understand channel effectiveness. Customer Lifetime Value (CLV)

models to inform acquisition and retention strategies. ROI and attribution frameworks across paid, owned, and earned media.

Partner with marketing, finance, and business teams to translate insights into actionable strategies that drive growth and efficiency. Lead the development of scalable data pipelines and dashboards to monitor marketing KPIs and model outputs. Communicate complex analytical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, influencing decision-making at all levels. Stay current on industry trends, emerging methodologies, and tools in marketing analytics and data science. Requirements

8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields, with a strong focus on marketing analytics. Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline. Proven experience building and deploying models for marketing mix, attribution, and/or customer lifetime value. Strong programming skills in Python (or R) and proficiency with SQL. Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and statistical modeling techniques. Expertise in data visualization and storytelling using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Ability to work independently on complex problems and lead cross-functional initiatives. Extra Points

Experience in the gaming or entertainment industry. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, programmatic buying) and analytics tools. Knowledge of cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Strong business acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders. Final offer range depends on experience, location, and performance. Compensation may include incentive pay and is negotiable.
