The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks 1 Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join 10 faculty and 4 advanced nurse practitioners in expanding the academic and clinical mission of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. The position is variable track at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The variable track is a three-year fixed term, renewable position. The selected candidate must have a strong interest in disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBIs or functional gastrointestinal disorders). The candidate must have completed pediatric GI subspecialty training. We encourage exceptional individuals interested in growing a clinical program in pediatric DGBIs along with advancing our research, education, and advocacy missions to apply. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team consisting of 2 psychologists, a dietitian, and a pediatric pain specialist that together treat patients with DGBIs. The candidate will work collaboratively with our UNC Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders. Candidates will have demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching. Strong clinical and endoscopic skills are required. Our hospital yearly serves more than 70,000 children from all 100 North Carolina counties for over 200,000 visits for diagnosis and treatment. This family-focused hospital serves as the primary teaching facility for UNC pediatric residents. The pediatric inpatient service has an 88-bed capacity and 5,900 surgical and pediatric admissions each year. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has a 20-bed capacity, and the Newborn Critical Care Center has a 58-bed capacity with approximately 850 admissions yearly. Chapel Hill and surrounding areas offer outstanding quality of life, excellent schools, and beautiful scenery. Responsibilities
Provide patient care in pediatric gastroenterology with a focus on disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBIs). Grow and develop clinical programs in pediatric DGBIs while advancing research, education, and advocacy missions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including 2 psychologists, a dietitian, and a pediatric pain specialist) and UNC Center for Functional GI and Motility Disorders. Engage in teaching and supervision of pediatric residents and learners; demonstrate excellence in clinical care and endoscopy. Contribute to scholarly activities in basic, translational, mechanistic, or population research related to GI conditions. Qualifications
Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Completion of pediatric GI subspecialty training. Strong clinical and endoscopic skills. Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teaching; interest in pediatric DGBIs is preferred. Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
