Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a large tertiary care center is required. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: BLS, RDCS - Adult or RCS Must-Have: Experience performing bedside studies and working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Description: The cardiac sonographer will work a 10-hour shift and will scan an average of 9 patients per day. The sonographer will be expected to perform both bedside studies and scans for patients who come to the department. Participation in weekend rotation is required, typically meaning every 6th weekend. When working a weekend, the sonographer will need to take adult echo call after hours. The sonographer may also be required to pick up a day of call during the week if needed. The sonographer must live within a 60-mile radius of the facility. Daily caseload is approximately 8-10 patients per day. The position involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations. Experience with portables is required, while experience with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) is preferred. Familiarity with echo procedures such as bubble studies and the use of contrast agents is essential. Experience with specific equipment, such as Phillips and Epic charting systems, is preferred. Candidates must possess strong skills and experience, especially if less than three years of experience.
