Grand Canyon University (GCU), a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian university located in Phoenix, Arizona, is planning to launch an ABSN program in Reno. Join us! The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions seeks a full-time Director of Nursing Services for our upcoming Accelerated BSN site in Reno, NV. The Director will lead and manage the hybrid ABSN learning site in collaboration with the university and healthcare partners, overseeing nursing services such as scheduling, proctoring, skills labs, clinical placements, compliance, and simulation. We value candidates who can work collaboratively across colleges and with industry leaders to promote human flourishing. We are especially interested in applicants who can enhance our academic community's diversity and integrate faith into their work. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for managing clinical, lab, and simulation activities to achieve organizational and university goals. Establish systems for measuring operational performance and development. Monitor, report, and analyze operational issues, opportunities, and achievements. Manage and develop staff, ensuring qualifications, certifications, and requirements are met. Secure and manage equipment and supplies for clinical, lab, and simulation activities. Collaborate with the Executive Director of Nursing Services to ensure quality service delivery to students. Ensure compliance with quality management, health and safety, legal, environmental, and regulatory standards. Qualifications:
Doctorate degree from an accredited institution. At least 5 years of nursing practice with demonstrated accountability for outcomes. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, including supervision of personnel. At least 2 years of clinical teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher. Online teaching experience is strongly preferred. Academic leadership experience is strongly preferred. Active, current, and unencumbered RN licensure in Nevada. NLN certification as a nurse educator (CNE) is preferred. Must pass pre-employment background check. Why Work at GCU?
