Overview
CNO Software Developer
for a program in the Ft. Meade area in support of the Intelligence Community.
Responsibilities
Analyze systems to understand how they work and how they behave when they break.
Develop and defeat new and advanced security techniques; work on both sides of the fence—development and security testing.
Collaborate in small teams with close coordination with customers.
Write code and perform activities such as studying disassembly or auditing code (e.g., Python to audit C++ code).
May lead small teams of developers and/or researchers.
Role typically requires a Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience or a minimum of eight (8) years of experience.
Demonstrated experience programming in Assembly, C, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications and Skills
Three or more of the following skills:
Understanding of OS internals
Experience with vulnerability research
Experience reading or writing assembly (x86, x64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, SPARC, 68k, or others)
Experience developing embedded systems
Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP stacks, wire-level protocols, RF communications, BGP, routing protocols, or others)
Understanding of exploit mitigations such as DEP and ASLR
Experience using reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, HexRays, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, or objdump)
Experience using debuggers (gdb, WinDbg, OllyDbg)
Experience with BDI/JTAG
Experience with modern C++ development (RAII, C++11/14)
Experience building and using tools to find, exploit, and productize vulnerabilities in complex software systems
