A Day in the Life of a Compliance Auditor As a Compliance Auditor at Castle Biosciences , your day will center around executing the company's established compliance audit plan under the direction of the Compliance and Privacy Officer. You'll conduct audits focused on regulatory, operational, privacy, and laboratory compliance, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. You'll maintain thorough documentation of audit procedures and findings, track outcomes, and support resolution efforts. In addition to audit execution, you'll promote Castle's culture of compliance by performing activities aligned with the seven elements of an effective compliance program—ranging from policy assessments and oversight reporting to identifying training needs and supporting corrective actions. You'll collaborate closely with department leaders, prepare clear and concise audit reports, and contribute to compliance reporting for leadership and committees. This role is key to supporting the organization's commitment to ethical operations and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in auditing, compliance, or a related field. A degree may not be required for candidates with a professional certification (CFE, CIA, AHFI, CHC) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing or compliance within a healthcare field.
Strong knowledge of
audit methodologies, internal controls, and risk assessment practices , with the ability to interpret and apply healthcare compliance regulations including
Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act , HIPAA, and other applicable laws.
Familiarity with the
seven elements of an effective compliance program
and ability to evaluate organizational processes for adherence to regulatory requirements.
Solid understanding of the
healthcare regulatory landscape , including federal and state laws, industry guidelines, and enforcement trends.
Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
(e.g., VLOOKUP, formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and data manipulation) and the ability to analyze and present large datasets clearly.
Travel
Occasional travel required, up to 2-3 weeks per year.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, in office 5 days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, exempt position.
