As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. About the team

Google's Android and Pixel Camera team is a collection of sub-teams organized around different parts of the camera stack, with some teams focused on Pixel specifically and some focused on the wider Android ecosystem. Our mission is to build software experiences on the Pixel phones that lead the entire Android ecosystem. We are a team passionate about building the world's best cameras and camera experiences to delight our users, partnering with teams across Google. Responsibilities

Software stack development to support Android camera Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL). Advanced Multi-Camera software frameworks and related use cases enablement. Pixel camera performance, power and memory optimization and related tools development; emerging technologies exploration and prototyping. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 3 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Experience developing software applications using the C++ programming language. Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and the Standard Template Library (STL). Preferred qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. 5 years of programming experience in C, C++, and Python. 5 years of experience with Unix/Linux environments and the development of Linux device drivers. 2 years of experience with Camera Sensors, ARM or other low-power SoC architectures. Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
