Overview
A Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is directly responsible for patient care during procedures and any duties delegated by the physicians. NPs/PAs exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills. They are expected to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the physician. Candidatesshould be able to make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner. Performing patient assessments and reviewing patient information Coordinating planned nursing care with other health care team members Identifying goals, formulating plans of patient care and evaluating outcomes Training and instructing new personnel as necessary Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of a clean work environment Assisting with organization and development of policies and procedures Ensuring compliance with care plans and determining appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Providing acute and chronic patient care, including taking histories, doing physicals, monitoring therapies, giving injections/medications, and suturing wounds Educating patients and families as appropriate and providing continuity of care Experience
Minimum of one year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License/Certification
Current California Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner license Certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Current CPR certification
