About The Role
VP Of Manufacturing Technology
We're seeking a VP of Manufacturing Technology to lead the development of Gantri's next-generation manufacturing processes to power fully automated, sustainable production across diverse materials. This leader will focus on two core missions: Automating Gantri's existing additive manufacturing process for polymer-based materials using advanced robotics, AI, and computer vision. Developing new additive manufacturing and automation technologies to support future materials — including metals, ceramics, wood, and stone. You'll build and lead an industry-leading, multidisciplinary team spanning automation, robotics, process development, and additive R&D, building systems that define how digital manufacturing evolves over the next decade. Responsibilities include: Automate Gantri's existing polymer-based production line using advanced robotics, vision systems, AI-driven controls, and autonomous workflows. Develop and validate new additive manufacturing processes for alternative materials (metal, ceramic, wood, stone) aligned with furniture applications. Design and prototype end-to-end automated systems, from print to post-processing to assembly. Integrate hardware, software, and data to build toward fully autonomous 'lights-out' factory operations. Lead cross-disciplinary R&D, collaborating with software, materials, and design engineering to ensure manufacturability and scalability. Build and lead a world-class Manufacturing Technology organization, covering process engineering, robotics, controls, and additive R&D. Partner with external research labs and technology providers to evaluate and integrate cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. Create standards, documentation, and test protocols for new processes and automation systems. Own long-term technical roadmap for Gantri's digital manufacturing platform and future factory network. Requirements include: 15+ years of experience in manufacturing process development, automation, or advanced manufacturing technology. Deep expertise in additive manufacturing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, binder jetting, hybrid systems). Proven experience in robotics and automation systems, including motion control, machine vision, and autonomous process design. Track record of developing and scaling new manufacturing technologies from R&D through production. Strong understanding of materials science, particularly polymers, metals, ceramics, and composites. Systems-level thinker able to integrate mechanical, electrical, software, and materials disciplines into cohesive platforms. Experience leading high-performing engineering teams and collaborating across design, software, and operations. Passion for automation, sustainability, and manufacturing innovation. Why Gantri: Join a company reimagining manufacturing and empowering the next generation of designers and design brands. Be part of a high-impact, design-driven organization creating a new industry. Lead design across both digital and physical experiences in a fast-growing, purpose-driven environment. Competitive salary, equity, and benefits. Benefits include: Competitive salary and equity Medical, dental and vision insurance 401k Paid vacation days and paid holidays Access to 3D printers for your personal projects Monthly team lunches And much more
