Overview
Risk Consultant - Location: Miami, FL. Primary travel within 200-mile radius of Miami; potential travel to other states if needed. AXA XL Risk Consulting supports underwriters and clients in identifying, evaluating, anticipating, and preventing risks. We leverage engineering expertise across multiple sectors to develop risk engineering approaches, modelling tools, and IT solutions for mid-market and corporate businesses, whether insured or not insured by AXA XL. AXA XL Risk Consulting, with an international network of more than 300 risk consultants in more than 25 countries, serves globally more than 2,000 clients. This position will provide risk consulting services for large property loss control and natural hazards evaluation in the Southeast region, applying robust engineering background to identify and mitigate property fire and Nat Cat risk exposures across a broad range of project types and customers. What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include? Review commercial property protection, including fire protection and water supply analysis Conduct onsite visits to assess property and Nat Cat exposures and develop detailed reports with recommendations for improvement Analyze building construction, fire protection features, process operations and special hazards Collaborate with AXA XL Risk Consulting engineers to serve clients Build credibility with and demonstrate the value of risk engineering services Serve the Southeast Region, with focus in South Florida, and support insured and non-insured clients. Travel is anticipated to be 20-25% What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with these abilities and skills: Experience with Large Property sites Robust working knowledge of NFPA Codes, FM Data Sheets, and local requirements Robust working knowledge of fire protection Preferred property loss windstorm analysis experience or willingness to learn Engineering or Science-based undergraduate degree Ability to apply industry experience to a broad range of customers and projects, consult effectively on property risk controls, and identify exposures/assess controls on complex risks Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with underwriting and customer partners and to translate technical information for diverse audiences Self-starter who can manage schedule and resources, work remotely, and drive own development Team-oriented, proactive collaboration with internal and external partners on projects Valid driver’s license; must be within South Florida Who we are
