Description We are seeking a

Senior Transmission Line Engineer

who will work as a member of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as an engineer on electric transmission line design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for utilities. This person will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects. They will perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents. This will involve working with a multi-person Leidos team and interfacing with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel. Work Location

Ideally, the candidate will reside in either Colorado or Minnesota to work remotely, but all qualified candidates residing in the U.S. will be considered. Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of NESC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and related standards to the design of HV/EHV transmission systems. Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals. Review full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles, and construction packages. Prepare bidding, procurement, and construction documents; draft plans and specifications. Collaborate with clients and project teams; interface with environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel. Lead and supervise others where required (Senior level). Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in design of electric utility transmission systems. Experience in reviewing transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plan and profiles, and construction packages. Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement; project schedules; and construction work packages. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams. Leadership experience and ability to supervise others (required for Senior and SME levels). Travel or client office work may be required. Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD tools; Microsoft Office. Preferred Experience

EIT, FE, or Professional Engineer (PE) license. GO95 certification. Additional program experience: PLS TOWER, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley ProjectWise, Mathcad, Autodesk AutoCAD. Leidos is growing.
