Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HQHVSN Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the expertise to perform high volume spay/neuter procedures on cats and dogs. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide relief wellness and urgent services when the chief veterinarian is out.
Duties
Perform spay/neuter surgeries to shelter and public pets and all duties necessary to safely perform those surgeries, 28-35 per surgical day depending on the makeup of the schedule
Other types of surgeries as needed and agreed upon (leg amputation, eye enucleation, etc).
Relief/emergency veterinary services to shelter animals
Relief/emergency veterinary services to clients in our Wellness Clinic
Performing necropsies as needed
Skills
Proficient in
pet care
and
animal handling , ensuring the comfort and safety of all patients. Strong knowledge of
veterinary terminology
and
animal physiology
to effectively communicate with team members and pet owners. Experience with
aseptic technique
to maintain sterile environments during surgical procedures. Ability to perform
animal restraint
safely and effectively during examinations and treatments. Familiarity with
dog handling
techniques for various breeds and temperaments. Job Types:
