Start times vary between 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM Training:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4 weeks, camera required)

California State Pharmacy Technician License Quiet, distraction-free home office Secure, hard-wired internet connection

(LAN cable provided; Wi-Fi not permitted due to PHI regulations) Camera usage mandatory during training and meetings

Job Description The Certified Pharmacy Technician will evaluate and authorize prior authorization pharmacy requests received via phone or fax, ensuring decisions align with clinical criteria. This role involves communication with prescribers, physician offices, medical management staff, and pharmacists to provide timely determinations and support.

Responsibilities Review and determine appropriateness of medications based on client criteria Communicate authorization decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists Research, resolve, and document prior authorization outcomes in pharmacy system Escalate requests to Pharmacist when extensive clinical review or denial is required Provide timely resolution to inquiries and grievances from clients, prescribers, or providers For fax queue assignments: Clinically review coverage determinations and communicate outcomes within SLA guidelines Monitor multiple queues and adapt to business needs (fax work, pending queues, oral notifications, failed faxes) Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED Certified/licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in California (CA State) Reside in California 0–2 years pharmacy experience Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Minimum of 6 months dispensing or retail experience required (or equivalent internal training)

Additional Qualifications Experience in specialty or retail pharmacy, reimbursement, or healthcare/health plan settings Knowledge of specialty injectable drugs, formulary management, medical terminology, and reimbursement coding (J/Q codes, ICD-9, CMS 1500, etc.) Proficiency in pharmacy systems, software applications, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong written/verbal communication and ability to follow clinical criteria Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
