Job Summary: We are seeking a
Special Procedures Technologist
to join our team in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. This role plays a key part in the successful delivery of diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including cardiovascular procedures. The technologist will assist physicians during procedures and be responsible for case monitoring, hemodynamic data, and ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities: Assist physicians during interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures as a scrub technician. Administer contrast media per age- and weight-specific guidelines. Prepare and maintain sterile fields and sterile trays. Accurately document procedures and ensure proper imaging workflow through Meditech and PACS systems. Start and maintain IV access; administer medications as directed. Demonstrate understanding of drug actions, interactions, and contraindications. Properly handle and dispose of radioactive materials per safety and regulatory protocols. Support patient safety and comfort during procedures, with attention to age-specific needs.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have
one
of the following: Current certification as
RCIS
(Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist). RCES
(Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) from
CCI , or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. Current license/certification through
ARRT
as a
Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)] .
Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required within 6 months of hire RCIS, RCES, or ARRT credential (as listed above)
Preferred Experience: Minimum of
1 year
experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab is preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse teams and patients.
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (Monday–Friday) Rotating on-call coverage (approx. 8–10 days/month)
