Cogent Biosciences is a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on developing precision therapies for genetically defined diseases. Our most advanced clinical program, bezuclastinib, is a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor designed to inhibit the KIT D816V mutation and other mutations in KIT exon 17. KIT D816V drives systemic mastocytosis (SM), a serious disease caused by unchecked proliferation of mast cells. Exon 17 mutations are also found in patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), a cancer strongly dependent on oncogenic KIT signaling. Top-line results from registration-directed trials in Non-Advanced SM, Advanced SM, and GIST are expected in 2025. We also have an ongoing Phase 1 study of our internally discovered FGFR2 inhibitor. Additionally, our Research Team is developing targeted therapies for genetically driven diseases involving mutations in ErbB2, PI3Kα, and KRAS. Our Team https://cogent.culturehq.com The Sr. Director / Exec Director, National Accounts is a field-based role responsible for managing a team of Account Directors to ensure broad coverage and access for Cogent’s products. This includes optimizing patient access within assigned accounts such as GPOs, regional payers, PBMs, targeted IDNs, MACs, and state Medicaid agencies. The role involves leading customer engagement with oncology and specialty accounts through strategic solutions and account plans, focusing on relationships with c-suite executives, pharmacy leadership, clinical management, and key decision-makers. Collaboration with internal departments including Marketing, Sales, Patient Services, Legal, and Compliance is essential to implement product access initiatives. Responsibilities
Negotiate and execute contracts with targeted accounts, remove economic barriers, and implement initiatives within GPOs, key accounts, and payers/PBMs. Articulate the value proposition of Cogent’s products to customers. Manage specialty and oncology GPOs and community business by providing product messaging, insights, and resources. Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Contract & Pricing, Medical, Trade, Legal/Compliance, Marketing) and serve as the main contact for account decisions. Develop account-specific plans to ensure optimal access for product launches. Create and assess business plans with team members to meet objectives and leverage resources. · If applicable, negotiate and manage rebate contracts with customers.
Adhere to regulatory and company compliance guidelines. Participate in meetings and conferences as requested. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 10-12+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 8 years in market access account management or leadership. Experience with GPO account management and relationships with oncology GPOs. Ability to travel up to 50%. Preferred Experience
Success in securing formulary positioning for key products. Proven success in sales or managed account sales within biotech/pharma. Leadership, project management, and team development skills. Experience launching new products or start-ups. Salary: $250,000 - $275,000 annuallyTarget Bonus: 25%Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location.
